Dear Friends,

My family and I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your support, commitment, and confidence in our vision for Northeast Baltimore County.

This past year has been hard work, but it was the type of hard work that is uplifting and energizing.  Our diverse group of volunteers helped us to conduct a positive campaign based on issues and not rhetoric.  My hope is that the voices of the over 40% of the district’s voters will not go unheard over the next 4 years. 

Visiting over 8500 doors in the district has taught me that the residents are ready for change, but 2006 was not the year to embrace this change.  My only hope is that our district’s newly elected officials will listen to the concerns of the entire district and represent their needs over the needs of their party leadership.

I am humbled by the support that we received, and I want to let everyone know that I will not forget the valuable lessons that this campaign has taught.

For now, I will be spending some quality time with my family and friends.  We have 12 months of catching up to do!

I will always be available to you, regardless of what may have occurred on Tuesday.  There is still much for all of us to do, and I hope that you all will consider staying involved in those issues that affect our community.

Edmund Burke wrote, “There is no greater evil than a man who did nothing because he could do only a little.”  We have accomplished more than just “a little.”  We discussed the issues that others were unwilling to mention, and even though the campaign was “unsuccessful,” our message was heard and understood.
